September 27th, 2025 @ Installation of Officer's Speech
"Thank you Worthy District Deputy Mike, Father Jay, Ladies and Gentleman, and my Brother Knights.
I'm always so touched by the words and prayers of this ceremony, the officer installation, every year. And most of you know that given a chance I like to reflect on the saint of the day. So, I'm extra inspired that today, September 27th, while we install our new officers, that the Church herself holds in memorial St Vincent DePaul, known as the "Apostle of Charity", and "Father of the Poor", he provided the universal call to service of the poor and the outcast ... the very same call to charity that Blessed Michael McGivney, through the example of his life and virtue, encapsulated and passed to us when founding the Knights of Columbus.
And it is this same virtue of charity, revealed through action and dedication, that I have come to witness in each of the new officers standing here today. Men that don't just live by word, but by deed, who are unafraid to carry Christ's banner into the world, supporting the community, and defending the Faith, the Family, and God's most precious gift of Life. Brother Knights I am honored to stand shoulder to shoulder with you in the form of that Cross.
Through the intercession of St Vincent DePaul and Blessed Michael McGivney, through the pastoral guidance of Fr Jay and Fr Maurice and our holy Deacons, and ladies and gentlemen through your prayers may this council continue to follow our Lord Jesus Christ more closely, fulfilling his commandment of charity and building up his body which is the church. Thank you and looking forward to a wonderful year."
Vivat Jesus!
